Falls Church-based Company Recognized for High Percent of Vets Hired
WASHINGTON, DC - DynCorp International (DI) has been ranked the 16th most military-friendly employer by G. I. Jobs Magazine, the nation's premier career guide for military job-seekers. Selected companies are those that have made the greatest effort and have had the greatest success in hiring military veterans.
"We believe a successful completion of military service is a great indicator of a person's commitment, trust and dedication," said DynCorp International President and CEO Herb Lanese. "Veterans are qualified technicians, leaders and managers and are a great asset to DI in our mission to strengthen the ability of our military to perform its core missions."
This fifth annual list of "who's who" of FORTUNE 1000 firms came from a pool of approximately 2,500 companies, with a minimum of $1 billion in annual revenues, with only two percent actually making the list.
Companies were chosen due to their level of dedication in military hiring, their observance of Reserve/Guard policies and the implementation of their veteran recruitment, training, and promotional programs, and the percentage of new veteran hires in the last two years. The Top 50 firms span coast to coast and have representatives from every industry including, but not limited to, insurance, finance, aerospace, consulting, and retail.
This is DI's first time placing on the list based on their growing commitment to recruiting and employing from the military.
"Hiring America's military veterans is a smart business decision for which all of the Top 50 companies should be commended," said Chris Hale, general manager of G.I. Jobs. "These companies understand how military knowledge, training and real-world experience positively affect their bottom line."
