FALLS CHURCH, Va. (May 15, 2007) - DynCorp
International Inc. (NYSE: DCP) has been recognized by Veteran's
Business Journal (VBJ) magazine as one of the United States' 10
best corporations for veteran-owned businesses.
The listing recognizes both efforts and results by companies in
patronizing veteran-owned suppliers and contractors. DynCorp
International is featured in the magazine's May/June cover story,
"They Get It: The 2007 Best Corporations for Veteran-Owned
Businesses All Understand the Sound Business Case in Using
Veteran-Owned Business Suppliers."
In praising DynCorp International's efforts, VBJ singled out DI
employee Debbie Newberry, who manages DI's small-business diversity
programs. Ms. Newberry helps counsel, mentor, support, and train
veteran-owned and service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses
(VOBs and SDVOBs) as they build relationships with DI and its
customers. Ms. Newberry also helps the VOBs and SDVOBs develop
longstanding relationships with the company through outreach events
and business development meetings.
The award was given to companies exceeding $1 billion in annual
revenues that include veteran-owned businesses in their
supplier-diversity programs. Veteran's Business Journal ranked the
companies based on their overall veteran-owned business program,
the assets they dedicate to VOB outreach, an evaluation and
comparison of their internal VOB program, their VOB goals, their
supplier-diversity personnel infrastructure, and other supporting
efforts.
