FALLS CHURCH, Va. (Dec. 21, 2006) - The
Ministry of Defense of the United Arab Emirates has selected
DynCorp International LLC to provide depot-level maintenance,
supply-chain management, information technology services,
maintenance training, facilities management, and commercialization
for its fleet of 17,000 ground vehicles. Dyncorp International LLC
is the operating company of DynCorp International Inc
(NYSE:DCP).
The contract, which is under the authority of the UAE Land Forces'
General Maintenance Directorate (GMD), is valued at approximately
$163 million over seven years, after which the GMD can exercise an
option to renew for an additional five years.
The UAE Armed Forces' General Headquarters has designated Al Taif
Technical Services (ATTS), a subsidiary of the Mubadala Development
Company, as the prime contractor for these services. As the prime
vendor to ATTS, DynCorp International will provide all services for
the contract, including the chief operating officer, chief
financial officer, administrative staff, and other key personnel.
In addition, DynCorp International will provide all personnel,
equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and services necessary
for GMD operations. The contract covers all types of military and
commercial vehicles, including fighting platforms, tankers,
transporters, buses, trucks, earth moving equipment, and all
terrain 4x4 vehicles.
DynCorp International currently provides maintenance services for
the UAE's fleet of AH-64 (Apache) helicopters.
